  • Data (.slg, sl2, and SL3 files) uploaded to the site using C-Map USA, Inc.'s upload tool become the property of C-Map USA, Inc.

So that we can attempt to constantly expand the functionality of or, C-Map USA, Inc. reserves the right to change, modify, or expand our service and, and we suggest that you check back from time to time in order to understand how we treat your information. Your continued use of the C-Map USA, Inc. Website constitutes your agreement to any such changes to said Policy now or in the future. We collect your personal information because it helps us deliver a superior level of customer service. It enables us to give you convenient access to our products and services and focus on categories of greatest interest to you. This may help us understand if your depth finder or other electronics are working properly for optimal output and use of the Site. This requires that our team have access to information about you and your data uploads.
  • We also collect information for market research purposes — such as your job title, employer and where you use your computer — to gain a better understanding of our customers and thus provide more valuable service.
  • We collect information regarding customer activities on our websites. This helps us to determine how best to provide useful information to customers and to understand which parts of our websites, products, and Internet services are of most interest to them.
  • We may use personal information to provide products that you have requested as well as for auditing, research, and analysis to improve C-Map USA, Inc.'s current and future products.

Registration Information

When users register for an account with the Site for any purpose, C-Map USA, Inc., LLC collects personal information including any of the following: your full name, address, email address, street address, occupation, birth date, gender and zip code, and information about your personal interests. It is not required that you answer any of these questions. However, some information is required when registering your account for use of the Site.  You are always allowed to decline to provide any information at any time. Any information provided is hereby provided in a voluntary manner. Failure to provide any requested information may prevent us from providing you with some of the services of the site.

C-Map USA, Inc. creates a unique ID based on your personal information that can be used by C-Map USA, Inc. internally. When you create a personal profile, you will be asked to provide your name, phone number, email address, and in some cases your mailing address or a credit card number.  You will also be required to choose a password for security. The system saves your information and assigns you a personal ID.  The system looks up the information it needs to assist you when creating a map.

C-Map USA, Inc. may also collect your credit card information and billing address when you sign up for services that require a fee. This collection of information is necessary to pay for certain BioBase services.

C-Map USA, Inc. collects anonymous and personally identifiable information. "Anonymous Information" refers to information that cannot be tied back to a specific individual or user.  This information includes numbers and information for trends for reporting purpose and does not refer to specific users.  "Personal Identity Information" means information that tells us specifically who you are, such as your name, phone number, or postal address and other factors entered as part of a user profile.  All of this information is tied directly to the specific user and his or her account. The amount of Personally Identifiable Information that you choose to disclose to us is completely up to you.  At times personal information will be required to receive prizes and products provided by our partners in promotions or otherwise. User surveys may also require personal information for promotions. If a user contacts customer service we may require that personal information is disclosed to help us assist you and make appropriate changes to or or any System site.

Identifying Trends of Our Users

C-Map USA, Inc. also collects information related to the areas of Contour Innovations, LLC that help us identify trends in website use including those pages that you visit and how often you visit specific areas. The above statement refers to all areas of or including co-branded websites, and our partner’s websites.

In addition, when you surf the Internet, your Internet browser automatically transmits some information to C-Map USA, Inc. every time you access content on one of our sites. Examples of such information include the URL of the Web page you were just on, the IP address of the computer you are using, or the browser version you are using to access our site. All of this information may be collected by C-Map USA, Inc. and used to help improve our offerings to you. Such information is only used in aggregate form, for reporting purposes or in connection with your personally identifiable information, to comply with a court of law.

Cookies and Tracking

As is standard practice on many websites, C-Map USA, Inc.’ website uses “cookies” and other technologies.  A “cookie” means a parcel of text sent by a server to a web browser and then sent back unchanged by the browser each time it accesses that server. 3rd party advertisers may be placing and reading cookies on you browser from time to time, or use a web beacons to collect information in the course of ads being served on or We gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and other information.  Some of this infomration does not personally identify a user, but it still helps us analyze trends, provide important information to our marketing teams, advertisers, and partners, and track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole without directly affecting a user’s experience.

Systems.

Information Collected for Advertising

We like to let our advertisers and prospective advertisers know what is going on with the site, and what to expect if they decide to advertise with us.  We also like to allow our advertisers to get their ads in front of those consumers that could use a product or service.  Some of the ads that may appear on the C-Map USA, Inc. site may be delivered to you by third party web advertising providers. Third party advertiser may also use tracking pixels that count new registrations on C-Map USA, Inc.. This allows the third party advertising companies to know how many new users have registered with Contour Innovations, LLC as a result of their advertising for C-Map USA, Inc., or to track how many users have viewed a particular advertising offer displayed on C-Map USA, Inc.. The information collected by tracking pixels is used in aggregate only for reporting purposes and is not used in connection with your personally identifiable information.  We will take precautions to keep that info safe.


As a matter of policy, C-Map USA, Inc. does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or allow such persons to register.  If a child under 13 submits personal information to C-Map USA, Inc. and we learn that that personal information is the information of a child under 13, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible.

Other companies that place advertising on our site may collect information about you when you view or click on their advertising or content through the use of cookies. Due to the way the Internet technically operates, we cannot control this collection of information. As the consumer, you should contact these advertisers or content providers that place information on the Contour Innovations, LLC Website directly if you have any questions about their use of the information they potentially collect.

Information that you provide while using products such as Contour Innovations, LLC Message Boards is available for all to see. Discretion should be used in entering Personally Identifiable Information within such forums, as it may be collected by third parties. C-Map USA, Inc. does not actively associate the message content entered by our users in C-Map USA, Inc. Message Boards with those users' registration information. We do not use this information to target any advertising to our users, nor is it ever willingly distributed to any third party, such as an advertiser, except if subpoenaed.

Publicly Displayed Information Is Considered Public

If you use a share feature, public forum, or any other social networking type feature on C-Map USA, Inc.’ website you should be aware that any information you share is visible to other users. Personally identifiable information you submit to one of these forums can be read, collected, or used by other individuals to send you unsolicited messages. C-Map USA, Inc. is not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums. For example, if you choose to make information, which was previously non-public, available by enabling certain user features in your account, C-Map USA, Inc. will collect that information from your interaction and the information will become publicly available.

We understand that fishing information is very sensitive and can be considered proprietary to a business.  We take all the steps possible to safeguard this information, but you understand that no System is full proof.  Some features of our web platform and Systems allows users to discuss and comment on data personally collected and/or purchased.  Each user must be sure to review the features of the website before using a feature that my disclose information as public.  C-Map USA, Inc. is not responsible to any in inadvertent release of any type of information.

Whom We Share Your Information With

C-Map USA, Inc. may disclose your personally identifiable information to selected and trusted third parties and will at all times provide you with an opportunity to opt out. If you opt out of sharing your personally identifiable information, we will not disclose such information to any third party, except in special situations described below, such as to comply with the law or administer the site. You can elect to opt-out at anytime by updating the preferences in your User Profile You can also elect not to use certain services or participate in certain promotions if you do not want your information shared with the third parties who are sponsoring or administering such promotions.

In the event that all or substantially all of C-Map USA, Inc. 's stock and/or assets are transferred or sold to another entity, Contour Innovations, LLC may transfer personally identifiable information to the acquiring entity. If, as a result of such a business transition, your personally identifiable information will be used in a materially different manner, you will be given choice consistent with our policy regarding notification of changes.

C-Map USA, Inc. may disclose your personally identifiable information if we believe in good faith that we are required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, a subpoena, or other legal process. Contour Innovations, LLC may also disclose personally identifiable information when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating our Terms of Service or to protect the safety of our users and the public or under confidentiality agreements with certain third parties which assist us in developing, operating and maintaining C-Map USA, Inc..

Sharing Your Information with Service Providers, Vendors, and Partners

We can’t do it all.  We do partner with and make Agreements with service provides that allow us to continually improve the web interface and overall product we provide.  There are times when it may be advantageous for C-Map USA, Inc. to make certain personal information about you available to companies that we have a strategic relationship with or that perform work for us to provide products and services to you on our behalf. How We Offer Protection and How You Can Help

C-Map USA, Inc. operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary, and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our users. Even your registration account password is encrypted before it is sent to our computers.  We can't even see your password because it is encrypted in our database for your safety, so don't ask us for it.  We have provided a "forgot password" function under the sign in, and it works pretty slick.

The C-Map USA, Inc. website uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on all web pages where personal information is required. To make purchases from our Online Store or purchase a membership, you must use an SSL-enabled browser such as Safari, Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later, or Internet Explorer. Doing so protects the confidentiality of your personal and credit card information while it’s transmitted over the Internet.

C-Map USA, Inc. takes steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online products or services, and you use these services at your own risk.

C-Map USA, Inc. does abide by the safe harbor framework set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information collected from the European Union.
